Major Changes – Balancing by Yoona

Balance Changes

Since the time of the live servers, the Korean live servers have been extensively revamped by NCsoft and this guide will explain some of the changes.

DG/ER affected by AC

From AC-100 and above, DG and ER increase by 1 for each AC-10.

Reduced magic damage reduction by Magic Resistance

MR has been rebalanced from the time of the US live servers. Characters will now need significantly higher MR to survive magical attacks. As a general rule, double MR will be needed for the same effectiveness from before the reworked MR. As such you can expect that 200MR (new) will be the same as 100MR (old); 150MR (new) = 75MR (old) etc.

Unique Class Skills and Cancel Magic

Each class’s unique skills except the buffs and buffs used by the wizard CAN NOT be canceled.

Polymorphs

Polymorphs have been reworked and many lesser polymorphs have been removed from the available list. Additionally, older polymorphs such as the Black/Silver/Arch morphs are now general use (available at level 1). New polymorphs have been added at levels 70, 75, 80, 82, 84, 86 and 88 for each specialization type: sword, bow, caster, assassin and lance.

Example: 70-84 for sword specialization types.

Expansion of Resistance System

In addition to the elemental resistance and magic resistance systems, many immunities can now be gained. This adds a new element of resistances to PvP and PvE encounters. Items may now have Fear (Horror), Stun (Technical), Spirit and Resonance (Vernacular). Also note that PvP spells will fall into these categories. For example, many Knight skills such as Shock Stun can be resisted with Stun (Technical) Resistances. The existing eight resistance values were changed to four attributes based on character class. Successes of spells depend on the attacking characters hit and the opponent’s resistance numbers. Additionally, many items have been modified to gain these resistances.

Press Ctrl + A to open the status window and select Other to check for hit / resilience

The hit / resistance that is regrouped for each class is as follows.

The accuracy of the class-specific magic after the update is determined by the hit / resistance value of that class attribute.

For example, Shockstun, a Knight skill, depends on skill hit / tolerance, which determines the success of the stun application. Therefore, some of the magic that played a big part in PvP will be significantly impacted by the changes.
